The Baltimore area is expected to see mostly sunny skies this weekend, with showers expected to roll into the area Sunday afternoon, the National Weather Service forecasts.
Temperatures are expected to be in the upper 50s this weekend, with Friday seeing a high of 58 degrees and Saturday’s high predicted at 57. The warmer-than-normal temperatures are caused by a warm air mass coming into the region, Cody Ledbetter, a NWS meteorologist said.
He said high temperatures are typically around 47 degrees during this time of the year.
A westward wind between 5 and 9 miles per hour is forecasted for the area Friday morning, with gusts as high as 21 miles per hour, NWS said. Winds are expected to be around 6 miles per hour Friday evening.
Saturday will see mostly sunny skies in the morning, with clouds coming in the evening.
There’s a 50% chance of rain Sunday morning with a high of 59 degrees. However, the area isn’t likely to see rainfall until after 1 p.m., NWS said. The chance of rain increases to 100% on Sunday, both during the afternoon and evening.
