I’m in my 50s and my skin is glowing – here’s how I get rid of dark circles using an everyday kitchen essential
A MAKEUP artist in her fifties with glowing skin has shared her secret to getting rid of dark circles under her eyes, using an item which costs pennies and can be found in the kitchen cupboard.
Gina Cicero shared the hack via a video posted to her TikTok account, where she often shares anti-ageing tips and trips.
Opening her video, @gina_cicero said: “Do you get dark circles and puffiness around the eyes? I’m going to show you a hack that may help you”.
Gina’s trick involves making gel eye pads out of coffee.
She said: “These have great benefits, you’re gonna love it”.
Explaining how to make the pads, Gina said that the first thing you need to do is grab a small glass bowl, a spoon and a mould for the eye patches.
You then need to get some gelatine and pour one pouch of it into the bowl.
Next, add two tablespoons of warm water, one tablespoon of warm coffee and a quarter of a teaspoon of coffee grinds.
Mix the mixture together and then place it into the moulds and put them in the fridge for an hour.
Once the mixture has been refrigerated you can take it out of the moulds and place it under your eyes to “let the coffee do its thing”.
Gina explained: “Caffeine has a bunch of anti-inflammatory properties help to narrow the blood vessels around the eye and stimulate blood circulation.”
She added: “Caffeine is also great for reducing puffiness and swelling around the eyes.”
Gina said that the gel pads will tighten the skin around your eyes making them look a lot brighter.
The beauty pro added that if you don’t have a mould or gelatine then you can mix the coffee with honey instead and just place it under your eye before washing it off.
TikTok users rushed to the video’s comments section to praise Gina for her anti-ageing tip.
One user said: “You are changing my life with your affordable hacks, thank you”.
Another added: “I am so going to try this!”
