4 fun events for the whole family

• San Anselmo’s Stapleton School of the Performing Arts stages its production of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic Christmas ballet “The Nutcracker” at 1 and 5 p.m. this weekend at the Palace of Fine Arts Theatre at 3601 Lyon St. in San Francisco. Admission is $40 to $75. The school will also present a Nutcracker Ball with food and drinks, a DJ and more from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the theater’s lobby. Tickets for the gala are $75 to $125. • Mill Valley Winterfest features live music and dance performances from local artists, food trucks, a bouncy house and rainbow slide for the kids and a special appearance by Santa Claus from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mill Valley Community Center at 180 Camino Alto in Mill Valley.
