Glittering but tiny morning
Hello Friends,
Light NW wind made for a sparkling sea as the morning got started along the beaches. In line with expectations, there is only a hint of south bump, so if you fancy some ankle to knee high play waves, take your floatiest surf toy. Water is clean and 22 according to the good folk from Beachwatch. Tide hits a deep 1.93 m at 1130 after which it runs out pretty quickly to hit the 0.27 low at 1820. The wind’s due to remain light through midday before gradually shifting to the SE – where it will stay through tomorrow.
With the forecast for SE wind, Sunday’s surf prospects are likely to minimal again, however, the Bureau does say that we could see a little uptick in size at the south magnets toward the middle of the day. For what it’s worth, I’m not seeing any significant improvement to surf prospects across the coming week on this morning’s swell models. The ECM and GFS predictions are both showing a south pulse midweek, but it’s expected to be short-period and getting torn up 15-20 kt south wind. And just to make it extra enticing, the models also tell us to expect showery to rainy weather along with the southerlies from Wednesday through Friday. Lovely.
Anyway, get out there and have yourself a top old day!
