Rohit has been a part of MI since 2011, assuming the position of team captain in 2013. Hardik, having previously played under Rohit at MI, later departed to captain Gujarat Titans. During his leadership, GT secured victory in the IPL during their inaugural season. Hardik returned to MI in the recent transfer window. With five IPL title victories under Rohit's captaincy, he shares the title of the most successful captain with MS Dhoni of the CSK.
