Prince Harry is no fun since marrying Meghan Markle, pal James Haskell reveals

PRINCE Harry is ‘no fun’ since marrying Meghan Markle, according to friend James Haskell.

The former England rugby star revealed his thoughts about the Duke of Sussex since he tied the knot with Meg in St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2018.

The pair held a lavish ceremony and it’s estimated the momentous occasion cost an eye-watering £32million – splashed on everything from catering to Meghan’s dress.

But, since the Duke and Duchess of Sussex made their shock announcement they were quitting their senior royal roles and moving to California – drama has followed.

Royal fans and body language experts have spotted Harry appearing miserable by his wife’s side at numerous events, from a night at Beyonce’s Renaissance world tour to charity speeches.

Their sensational interview with Oprah in 2021 fuelled tensions as Harry and Meg claimed certain royals had made comments about their son Archie’s skin colour.

In 2022 the pair then released their controversial two-part documentary Harry & Meghan.

The £88million Netflix docuseries targeted The Firm with even more explosive claims, in particular against Prince William and Queen Camilla.

However, despite being highly-anticipated it didn’t even rank in the top 200 most-watched Netflix shows from January to June.

Then in January this year, Harry released his bombshell memoir Spare, in which the former royal claimed his brother “knocked him to the floor”.

Harry also alleged William and Kate Middleton encouraged him to wear the infamous Nazi uniform.

Now in the latest scandal, more vile allegations were made by Omid Scobie in his hatchet-job book Endgame.

The former royal correspondent made poisonous claims that Kate and Charles were the two Royals who made remarks about the skin colour of Harry and Meghan’s first child, Archie.

Allegations have since been pilloried by Royal experts and in the fall out Scobie has been blasted for peddling “bulls**t” excuses about how names were included in the Dutch translation.

Despite the litany of claims Harry and Meg have made against the Royal Family, Haskell previously defended his mate when the book Spare was released.

At the time he told the Mail Online: “When someone feels like they and their partner have been oppressed, lied about, contradicted and put into a corner, I think it’s very important [to speak out.”

But, it appears the rugby legend does harbour some telling opinions about the Duke.

Speaking of how he met Harry in 2011 at Mike and Zara Tindall’s wedding, Haskell hinted his friend had changed since marrying Meg.

“Who should be there, wandering around having a good time, but Prince Harry,” he said.

“He hadn’t met her [Meghan] yet, so he was still quite fun.”

The telling comment was made at Bath Forum, in Somerset, for the World Cup Afterparty: The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.

Earlier this year, Haskell made more jokes when he and Mike Tindall recorded a special World Cup edition of their podcast.

In attendance were the Prince and Princess of Wales, as well as Princess Anne.

The chat, which was recorded at Windsor Castle, hinted at some of Haskell’s thoughts on the Royal Family feuds.

He made a joke about the mugs used for their tea and said: “The tea we were served came in chipped mismatching mugs with cheesy slogans on.

“‘Best dad in the world’, ‘I hate my brother'”.

Haskell also made jibes at Tindall, dubbing him a “proper brown-nose around the royals.”

In light hearted banter, he added: “He’s taken brown-nosing to a new level.

“They called him “Solesy” at the palace because the only thing you see hanging out of their backsides are the soles of his feet.

“And he’s also known as a bit of a cuckoo because since he joined up he’s had Harry out and he’s had [Prince] Andrew out [of the family] as well.

“He’s one big plane crash away from being King.”

Haskell went on to joke: “He keeps trying to book their travel. Charles will be asking him, “Do we really have to fly to Afghanistan? And all together? And on Ryanair?”‘
