A HOTEL worker has revealed the four things that you should always do when checking out of your room which make the staff love you.
Many of us are familiar with rushing to check out of a hotel room without a thought for the staff who come in to clean up afterwards.
The job involves long hours, manual work and is typically low paid.
However now a veteran hotel worker has revealed the four things that we should all do to make life easier for the staff.
Strip the bed
This is the first thing we should do before checking out. The worker recommends pulling the covers off the duvet and pillows, which can be left in a pile next to the bed.
She said that you only need to worry about the bed that you slept in.
Collect the garbage
The worker said that it is only fair to gather up all the rubbish and recycling accumulated during your stay at the hotel.
And she said always to make sure to get rid of partially used soap, which “nobody wants to touch.”
She said that gathering up the trash was always really appreciated by staff.
She said: “This is going to make your housekeepers job so much easier. It means they can get into the room and start cleaning right away.”
Appliances
While many of use the complementary appliances in the room we often forget to put them away when checking out. This means the cleaner has to do it.
So its a good ideal to put the hairdryer and other items back where we found them.
She said: “Just put them back exactly where you found them.”
The towels
Most guests get through a lot of towels and often left them strewn across the room.
Wading through soggy towels is not fair on the staff and guests are urged to gather them up and leave in one tidy pile on the floor.
