‘It’s been great working with Chris’ – Postecoglou comments on Davies’ future
Ange Postecoglou has seemingly given a hint that Chris Davies might be on his way out of Tottenham by stating that he has enjoyed working with the Lilywhites’ senior assistant coach.
Swansea are on the lookout for a new manager and Davies is one of the names on the club’s wishlist, with the Championship side’s approach for the former Wales youth international being knocked back by Spurs a week and a half ago (Matt Law).
However, multiple outlets have revealed that the Swans have not given up on their pursuit of Davies (Independent), with some sources over recent days stating that the club are readying a second approach for the 38-year-old (Lyall Thomas).
Davies has continued to be heavily involved at Tottenham and fans would have seen him being quite animated on the touchline during the club’s 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest, constantly shouting instructions to the Spurs players and preparing the substitutes before they came on.
Postecoglou’s big hint on Chris Davies’ future
While Postecoglou has neither confirmed nor denied that Davies is on his way out, he remarked that he has enjoyed working alongside him at the North London club.
The Australian was quite philosophical about Swansea’s approach, insisting that talented coaches are always going to attract attention.
The Tottenham head coach told Sky Sports: “You don’t want to lose important staff and it’s been great working with Chris [Davies] for this last six months.
“He’s been a big part of what we’re trying to build here along with the other coaches; we’ve got a really great coaching group. Guys I’ve never worked with before. I came here by myself, so that’s the way I love working and it’s been great having Chris here.
“Whenever he decides in the future, whether that’s with us or elsewhere, I’m sure it won’t be the last time that another club looks at him.
“You want good people, and if you’ve got good people, then you’re going to attract attention – I’d much rather that than no one looking at the people we have in the building.”

This appears to be the clearest indication yet that Davies could well be on his way out of Tottenham. I suspect that the 38-year-old has given an interview to the Welsh club and is waiting to hear their final decision.
