The Permanent Committee for Human Rights in the UAE, in partnership with the General Women's Union and the UN Women Liaison Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council, organized an event titled "Climate Change and Ways to Mitigate Gender-Based Violence" at COP28. Jamal Al Musharakh, the UAE's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, emphasized the importance of women's role and gender equality in climate action. The UAE is actively involved in addressing climate change and has submitted a draft resolution on girls' education to the Human Rights Council. The UAE also promotes climate change issues in conflict areas.
