A pub landlady is begging for her mummy to be returned after it was stolen on Halloween.

Maria Limbert put out the prop at The Endeavour pub in Whitby for the town’s biannual Goth Weekend.

But the mummy vanished, sparking North Yorkshire Police to launch a hunt for the culprit.

Maria said: ‘I want it back. It’s very frustrating.

‘I had hoped the person who took it would bring it back, but that chance has long passed.

‘Businesses go to a lot of effort for Whitby Goth Weekend and Halloween. Whitby doesn’t do tacky.’

Police have released CCTV of a man wearing a tuxedo picking the mummy up and running off with it.

The snappily dressed thief is described as white, aged in his early 20s, of thin build with short blonde hair.

A woman was also captured trying to get the man to put the mummy down, before he made his escape.

She is described as being of similar age, of medium build, with long black hair and was wearing black clothing.

Police said they want to speak to the two people caught on camera.
