Chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday inaugurated 59 lift irrigation (LI) projects constructed with an expenditure of Rs 2500 crore. He also laid the foundation stone of 33 projects to be constructed in nine districts with an estimated cost of Rs 1800 crore. The projects are being carried out under the Parbati Giri Mega Lift Irrigation Scheme. The 59 LI projects inaugurated by Naveen through videoconferencing will irrigate 80,000 hectares of farmland in 13 districts.
