Report: Tottenham reach out about Lazio star who could be a free agent in the summer
Apparently, Tottenham Hotspur are ready to fight it out with a number of Italian clubs to make the signing of Lazio’s Felipe Anderson, with the Brazilian’s current contract set to expire next summer.
With injuries affecting Ange Postecoglou‘s squad rather severely so far this season, it’s no surprise that the Australian is looking to add to his roster in the upcoming transfer window.
The likes of Manor Solomon and Ivan Perisic have been missing for a while now, while James Maddison is also suffering with an injury that is limiting Postecoglou’s options in attacking areas.
It’s been suggested Spurs will be looking to add a new winger in the January transfer window to ease this issue, with many names linked to the club ahead of next month.
Spurs are chasing Felipe Anderson
Now, however, a surprise name has emerged as a possibility for Tottenham, in the form of an ex-West Ham player now plying his trade out in Italy.
According to TV Play, Spurs are now in the hunt for Felipe Anderson, but face competition from the likes of Juventus and AC Milan.
The winger’s contract with Lazio is set to conclude in 2024, and uncertainty looms over his future playing destination. Anderson has even openly stated that there is no existing agreement for contract renewal.
This situation has prompted interest from several clubs, with Tottenham among them. The latest report suggests the Lilywhites have “reached out” to the player, seeking information on the terms required to secure his services.
Juventus are thought to be ready to offer Anderson a three-year deal worth €5m (£4.2m) per year, to join them on a free transfer next summer. Meanwhile, Milan are prepared to make an offer to Lazio in January, but it’s thought Anderson would still command a fee of around £17m.

This is not a signing I’d be looking for us to make. Felipe Anderson is 30-years-old and didn’t exactly set the world alight when he was last in the Premier League. He just doesn’t fit the bill for a Postecoglou signing, so I can’t see it happening.
