Al Jazeera News Reporter killed in Israel attack in Gaza

0

Following the tragic deaths of journalists in the conflict between Israel and Gaza, Al Jazeera reports that two of its reporters have been killed and injured in Gaza.

On Saturday, Al Jazeera News confirmed the death of Samer Abudaqa, a cameraman for the network in Gaza.

According to Al Jazeera, Samer Abudaqa was killed in Khan Yunis, in the southern Gaza Strip, as a result of an Israeli airstrike.

Walid Al-Omari, the head of Al Jazeera’s Gaza bureau, stated, ” Abudaqa was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were too severe for survival.” He noted that many people in Gaza are bleeding and dying because ambulances cannot reach them.

The network stated in a statement, “After Samer was wounded, he bled for over five hours because Israeli forces prevented ambulances and emergency personnel from reaching him and denied much-needed emergency treatment.”

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera News reports that concurrently with the death of Samer Abudaqa, Wael Al-Dahdouh, another Al Jazeera reporter, was injured while reporting from a school in Khan Yunis in the south of the country.

This comes as the network accused Israeli forces on Friday of targeting journalists and their families.

Samer Abou Daher, an Al Jazeera reporter, has tragically lost his life. At the same time, the International Federation of Journalists recently announced that 94 journalists and media workers had been killed worldwide, with 72 per cent of them losing their lives in the Gaza conflict.
