Area of foreign-owned US farmland rises more than 8% in 2022: USDA

WASHINGTON D.C.: The latest report on foreign agricultural landholdings by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.) released on December 15 showed that the total area of foreign-owned U.S. farmland rose more than eight percent in 2022.

However, 43.4 million acres of foreign-owned forest and farmland account for only 3.4 percent of the country's agricultural land, the report added.
