I visited Epcot while pregnant and couldn’t figure out why everyone was staring at me – then I looked at my dress
A MOM-TO-BE soon realized that mishaps occur even in the most magical place on earth.
She was just enjoying a day at Disney when she realized she was getting more attention than Mickey.
“One time I was leaving Epcot after it down poured rain – I was six months pregnant and I couldn’t figure out why everyone was staring at me on our way out,” said Chelsea Hedden (@heddentotheparks).
She then showed a photo of the soaked pink frock that caused all the commotion and things became quite clear – literally.
Her undergarments – and belly – appeared to be completely visible.
The Disney devotee seemed to still be in disbelief over the dress disaster as she took a long sip of her coffee drink.
“If you’re having girl problems I feel bad for you son, I’ve got 99 problems but a b***h ain’t one,” by a cover artist played in the background.
She has since learned an important lesson that she won’t soon forget.
Said Chelsea: “I now know this dress is see-through when wet.”
One concerned follower tried to find a silver lining in the see-through situation.
“I mean at least you’re not overheating,” she said.
“It was actually the most comfortable I had been all day for that reason,” replied Chelsea.
“Oh no – hey, it’s one of those look back and laugh moments!” said another viewer who tried to see the bright side.
“It’s so funny now,” she agreed.
“The most comfortable you had been all day lol,” this watcher reiterated her words.
“Right I was so happy. I’m glad Coleman didn’t tell me until we left the park though lol.”
According to thenakedscientist.com, there are reasons why clothing becomes so easily see-through in the rain.
Cotton especially is made of lots of fibers around the same size as the wavelength of light but when it gets wet, the light no longer gets scattered as strongly.
This leads to the material becoming much more transparent.
