'Give him time': West Ham boss delivers Ten Hag verdict ahead of Man Utd clash

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has received support from West Ham United boss David Moyes ahead of the Premier League encounter between the two sides.

Man United will face West Ham on Saturday at The London Stadium.

Speaking ahead of the clash, David Moyes said Erik ten Hag must be given time to bring the house in order.

He said (via whufc.com): “I don’t want to make too much comment about Manchester United, but I hope they give the manager time to get everything in place that he wants to do, and give him every opportunity to be successful.

“It’s a great football club, with great players and great traditions. There are so many good things about it, and obviously the supporters there will be looking for something a little bit more.

“I’ll obviously expect them to give you a really tough game. 

“I can’t speak about Manchester United, all I can say is they’ve got really good players and I hope we don’t catch them on a good day.”

Another loss could pile more pressure on Ten Hag

The Dutchman is already under pressure after Man United’s early exit from the Champions League and Carabao Cup.

Their tally in the Premier League is not convincing either. They are standing in the 7th spot, just a point above the Hammers.

A defeat at the London Stadium will help the hosts to leapfrog the Red Devils on the PL table.

Man United have found it challenging to score goals. In 17 league games, they have scored merely 18 times.

No other team in the top 14 have scored fewer goals than the Red Devils.

Their top-scorer in the league is Scott McTominay, and that tells how poor Man United have been in the final third.

Moyes’ words might come from his personal experience as the Red Devils sacked him after just ten months of his takeover.

His statement might be biased, but it is accurate. 

Ten Hag has seen ups and downs in his short Old Trafford career. However, the club should continue to back the Dutchman to bring the glory days back at Man United.

A win against West Ham on Saturday will help the Red Devils to move closer to the fourth spot.
