Megyn Kelly schools far-right blogger who said women should be 'traditionally feminine'
Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly on Thursday took a fellow conservative to task on "traditional femininity" issues.
Matt Walsh, who has been referred to as a "wingnut" who says the quiet part out loud, on Thursday responded to a viral video in which a self-proclaimed feminist said she was amazed and impressed when a man she went on a date with paid for everything.
"She's impressed that the guy paid, which is fine. Women are naturally attracted to providers. But if she likes this aspect of traditional masculinity, she has to accept the rest of it and be willing to play her part and be traditionally feminine," Walsh said. "That's where things usually break down for feminists."
But fellow conservative Kelly wasn't going to let that stand.
"Actually, no she doesn’t. She can find a man who pays and also gets completely hot for a working wife who doesn’t cook or behave like any sort of traditional wife," Kelly interjected.
Walsh responded, asking, "Why should the man play the traditionally masculine role of paying for the meals if the woman is not going to play the traditionally feminine role in return?"
"It’s not about role playing," Kelly wrote.
She further added:
"It’s about who you are and what attracts you. The message that in order to get a man who wants to take care of you, you have to be a [traditional] wife is not true. Some guys want the fire & excitement of a working wife. Trust me, we bring plenty to the table that would be very appealing to many (not all) men and lots of those men would still want to take care of us, protect us, and marry us. It’s awesome!"

Walsh then added clarification: "I said that a woman should not expect a man to play the traditional masculine role of paying for meals if the woman is not willing to play the traditional feminine role herself."
"So you are limiting your comments to women who do not work but want things paid for and do absolutely nothing for the man or the partnership in return? Well that’s a no-brainer," Kelly said on Thursday. "Your initial comments were more sweeping."
