The Lakers will be shorthanded once again on Thursday against the Wolves as LeBron James and Gabe Vincent will both be out.

After having their rotation at full strength for the first time all season, the Lakers will go right back to being shorthanded on Thursday. Both Gabe Vincent and LeBron James will be out on the second night of a back-to-back against the Timberwolves.

Anthony Davis, who turned his ankle against the Bulls on Wednesday, is listed as questionable.

LeBron sat out the second night of the team’s last back-to-back, that being the win over the Spurs. So, while he’s listed with left ankle tendinitis, this is likely simply standard operating procedure for the team.

Vincent, meanwhile, was always unlikely to play on both ends of the back-to-back after making his return to the court on Wednesday. After playing 14 minutes against the Bulls while on a minutes restriction, Vincent will rest before likely returning against the Thunder on Saturday.

Davis had another injury scare during Wednesday’s game, turning his ankle in the second half. He was already listed on the injury report with an ankle sprain.

Without LeBron last time, the Lakers survived against San Antonio after a big rally in the fourth quarter. Against a significantly better team in Minnesota, the task will be...significantly tougher.

Coming into the game, the Lakers have lost three straight contests and four of the last five since winning the In-Season Tournament. Breaking that losing streak will also be significantly tougher on Thursday as well.
