Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia, protesting the election of Sanjay Singh, an aide of former WFI president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, as the new Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president, announced the return of his Padma Shri award. In an expression of his disappointment, Punia placed the medal and a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the pavement near Kartavya Path in central Delhi, emphasizing that he would not take the award home.
