I shamed my man at his work Christmas do – he was mortified by my drunk dancing & lies & left picking up the pieces
A WOMAN has admitted to completely embarrassing her boyfriend as his plus-one at the work Christmas do.
Taking to social media, the woman revealed it was a pretty boring corporate event as her partner works in insurance – so she decided to spice things up.
“The story of how i almost ruined my boyfriend’s work Christmas party by lying,” she wrote.
She said in the clip: “Obviously everyone is talking about the most boring topic in the world which is insurance.
“I don’t know anything about insurance, I don’t know anybody, so I’m just like networking but I’m pretty bored.”
The woman who goes by @cvillainnn on TikTok then revealed she made a friend with her boyfriend’s coworkers girlfriend who had been invited.
After a few too many drinks, the pair decided to start a dance train – which kicked the night off as it got everyone onto the dance floor.
Now she was mingling with her boyfriend’s co-workers and a little loose lipped form the alcohol, she and her new friend decided to start telling everyone they worked in the IT department.
Not only did everyone fall for it on the night, but they went home asking about the duo when heading back to the office after Christmas.
“Mind you neither me or Jen are in insurance or IT, we actually know nothing about either,” she explained.
After a fun night, her boyfriend got back to work where everyone asked him about his girlfriend who worked in IT.
She explained: “When they got back to work people were coming up to them including their own management being like ‘oh my god I had no idea like your girlfriend and your girlfriend were in IT, what a small world.'”
To top it off, the IT department weren’t even at the Christmas party – making their lie believable for way too long.
She added that her boyfriend then had to shamefully tell everyone in the office that his girlfriend had lied about the whole thing.
“So mine and Jen’s boyfriend had to shamefully explain to everyone that we were lying about being in IT and that we weren’t even part of the company,” she added.
The clip posted on TikTok quickly went viral with over 27k views and 1,600 likes.
People were quick to share their thoughts in the comments.
One person wrote: “They should’ve offered you an IT position.”
Another commented: “As long as you don’t get kicked out, you’re golden.”
“Its absolutely hilarious and totally ok,” penned a third.
Meanwhile a fourth said: “This legit had me dead. That is so funny I wish I was there!”
“if you can pull off being in the company then yes it’s ok haha,” claimed a fifth.
Someone else added: “I mean I find it a tad tacky but it seemed like it went over okay in the end!”
