Jon Scheyer’s Wife Interviewed
It’s nice to get an idea of who she is
We’re less than 45 games into the Jon Scheyer era and a lot of things have yet to come fully into focus. Among them is Scheyer’s family.
When Mike Krzyzewski came to Duke in 1980, it didn't take long for fans to realize that his wife, Mickie, was going to be a big part of Duke’s program. Trivia: early in his career, Bob Knight told his protege Krzyzewski that “you’re going to be a great coach, but your wife is a pain in the ass.” That’s from memory so it might be slightly off, but you get the drift.
It’s been a bit different with Scheyer. We’re guessing that most people know that he’s married but not many could tell you his wife’s name (it’s Marcelle).
Marcelle sat down with WRAL for her first interview and she’s an interesting woman. She’s less visible than Mickie Krzyzewski and that’s probably not going to change - that’s just who she is - but she says she’s learned a lot from Mrs. K and sees her as a mentor.
This is a pretty cool insight into who she is and how she sees her family and Jon’s role (and future) at Duke.
We’re really glad she did this but it’s probably smart if you don’t hold your breath waiting for the next one.
