Woman struck by vehicle, seriously injured in Rocky Hill
A 66-year-old woman was struck by a vehicle and seriously injured in Rocky Hill on Friday morning, police said.
Officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a person being hit by a vehicle near 2757 Main Street at 10:21 a.m., according to the Rocky Hill Police Department.
The woman, whose name has not been released, was found suffering from serious injuries at the scene. She was given medical attention by police officers, then paramedics, before being taken to a nearby hospital.
She was listed in critical condition as of Friday afternoon, police said.
The driver of the car that struck her was not injured. They remained at the scene and were cooperating with investigators, according to police.
The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad responded to the scene and was investigating “due to the seriousness of the motor vehicle collision.”
Police believe the driver was headed south on Main Street when they struck the woman as she was walking in the road heading west, the department said in a statement.
