Queen’s Park and Laurie Ross are delighted to announce that Sahasra from Cathkin Primary School has been chosen as the winner from the thousands of entries received in the third year of our ‘Design a Christmas Card’ competition.
School children from a host of schools local to the south-side location, that Queen’s Park and Laurie Ross share, were asked to design a Christmas card showing what a ‘Scottish Christmas Tree’ should look like and after many hours of judging it was decided that Sahasra’s design which featured Santa playing the bag pipes and a Highland Cow was the winner.
Sahasra has followed St Fillan’s Macy Flavin and Morven Campbell from Pollokshields Primary as the winner and picks up the prize of a Queen’s Park goodie bag (including a strip), a £50 Hamleys toy store voucher and a £100 Voucher for her family to enjoy a meal in a town centre restaurant with a taxi service provided.
Her teacher, Mr Bell was delighted at her success as he won a Jo Malone gift bag as part of the prize.
Kieran Koszary, Head of Commercial at Queen’s Park, said: “This has proven to be a heart-warming competition to run again. It is our third year of doing so and every year we fill the windows of Laurie Ross with cards due to the level of participation from local schools.”
“Sahasra’s winning entry will be used as Queen’s Park’s Christmas Card for December 2024. Laurie Ross have supported this competition fantastically and deserve a lot of thanks for adding to the Christmas cheer on the south-side.”
June Lynch, Managing Director, Laurie Ross Insurance said: “Sahasra’s winning design has completed a hat-trick of great success at Christmas for this competition. It is terrific that Queen’s Park and Laurie Ross work so well to bring it to life but it would not happen if it were not for the participation of the local schools.”
