Senior professor Sameer Khandekar died on stage during an alumni meet at the Indian Institute of Kanpur. He suffered a cardiac arrest and was taken to Cardiology Hospital in Rawatpur, where he was declared dead. Born in Jabalpur, MP, Prof. Sameer had a B.Tech from IIT Kanpur and a Ph.D. from Germany. He joined IIT Kanpur in 2004 and became a professor in 2014. He was discussing health-related topics during his speech when his health suddenly deteriorated.
