Re: Boxing Day at home
TheHeathTamWorcester BlueI'll be there and I do like going to footy on Boxing Day
However the 515ko and the fact it's on Sky coukd easily have swayed me so I can see why people will be tempted to stay away
I remember battling through the snow to get to and from a home match over Xmas - I think against Southampton
Again was on Sky
If the weather was as bad as that night, I would deffo stay at home and watch on the box with my turkey sandwiches and festive booze selection
I remember a snowy one over Christmas - 28th December 1993 against WBA. We won that one, and I think that (Spike will confirm) it was Ian Bennett's home debut. He made a save on ther line from a Bob Taylor (again, I need Spike's verification on this) downward header and became an instant hit.
I’m not sure if Benno played against Charlton in the Kenny Lowe screamer match which was just before Christmas but he did make a world class save from a Bob Taylor downward header. I remember we won 2-0 and I think Pesch scored but can’t remember who scored our other.
Penalty from Saville.
