The Warriors’ bench looked stunned after a meaningless Wizards buzzer-beater covered the spread
Anyone who had to sweat through the end of a terribly bad beat when the Golden State Warriors (-12) faced the Washington Wizards on Friday night in San Francisco apparently had some company with their misery — the Warriors themselves.
Washington pulled off the backdoor cover against the spread thanks to an otherwise meaningless three-pointer from Ryan Rollins as the clock hit zero. The Warriors still won outright, 129-118, but the buzzer-beater cost bettors dearly.
Moments before Rollins’ shot, Chris Paul, Steph Curry and Gary Payton II were all looking pumped as Gui Santos hits two free throws to go up 14. The broadcast caught all of their faces dropping as soon as Rollins answered.
Maybe they were talking about the spread, maybe they weren’t, but either way their reaction was the same every bettor watching the action unfold.

Golden State fell to 12-15-1 against the spread this season, but 4-8-1 ATS at home. Bettors won’t forget how this one ended anytime soon.
