The World Health Organization (WHO) has called upon countries in the South-East Asia region to enhance surveillance efforts due to the rising cases of COVID-19 and its new sub-variant JN.1, along with influenza. Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director of WHO South-East Asia, urged countries to bolster surveillance, sequencing, and data sharing to adapt responses effectively.
