Ski Sundown announced it will welcome back skiers, boarders and snow lovers on Tuesday, December 26 at 8 a.m. with 10 trails and all 5 lifts open.

Colorado’s best ski-area snow stakes have become webcam celebrities
Sundown, which has a live camera pointed at its snow making machine, notes it needs “cold, dry air in the teens to mid 20’s” and while it has “plenty of water, snowmaking equipment, and output capacity, we just haven’t had the right temperatures for sustained periods of time.”
Mother Nature appears to be cooperating now, however, as the New Hartford ski area says it will open Dec. 26 and “we will be watching for every sustained drop in temperatures to get the snow guns blasting” even again.
