In a clip posted to TikTok (@mealsbymitch), Mitch explains: “If you’ve got a load of leftovers from your Christmas dinner, this is how to make a proper tasty leftover pie and it’s so simple to do.”

He begins by saying you need to have your pan on a medium heat.

“I’ve got a drop of oil, I’ve added one leek, three cloves of garlic, and a little bit of rosemary and thyme,” he says.

“Give it all a good stir and let it cook for a couple of minutes.

“Add a heaped tablespoon of flour, stir it all through and then add 500ml of chicken stock.”

The food guru then recommends letting it bubble away and reduce until it starts to thicken up.

“Then I’m going to add two heaped tablespoons of crème fresh,” he continues.

“Just stir all of this through, add some salt and black pepper to your own taste, a teaspoon of English mustard and just mix it all through.”

Mitch goes on to say that it’s up to you what leftovers you add in, but he opts for bacon, brussels sprouts, turkey, carrots and some roast potatoes.

After adding it into the pan, he advises stirring it through once more and voilà – you’ve got your pie filling.

“I’ve transferred everything into a pie dish, let it completely cool, and then top it with your puff pastry,” he says.

“If you’re feeling fancy you can make it look pretty.

“Give it a generous egg wash, pinch of salt and wack it in the oven for 20 minutes….now that is a proper little treat!”

Mitch captioned the post: “Another simple one for any leftovers you’ve got knocking about.”

It wasn’t long before the video went viral, racking up over 359k views and several comments from very impressed social media users up and down the country.

“That’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen,” wrote one.

A second penned: “Fantastic use of leftovers.”

A third praised: “This is the best one you’ve done.”

Meanwhile, a fourth enthused: “That looks banging, bro!”

Another added: “Looks amazing!”

And a further chimed in: “Bro is genuinely better than Jamie Oliver!”
