A CLEANING expert has revealed the household ingredients she adds to her mop to keep pests at bay.
Not only is the trick effective as a natural bug repellant but it also makes your home smell great.
A cleaning expert shared the secret ingredient she added to her mop water to keep pests out[/caption]The Benson Mama (@thebensonfamily5) shared the video with her TikTok followers.
In a bucket, she prepared boiling hot water to wipe down her wooden floors.
For a little boost, she added a secret ingredient that she had on hand.
“I don’t know who needs to hear this but mop your floors with boiling hot water and cinnamon!” she said.
She explained it was a great chemical-free option to keep pests out.
“It’s a natural bug repellent and your house will smell amazing… you’re welcome,” she said.
“McCormick Spices Cinnamon, boiling hot water, and O-Cedar = perfection,” she said.

“Lemongrass, clove, and real lavender works too if you can’t use cinnamon,” said another.
