Fans ask ‘why?’ as forgotten Arsenal flop refuses to celebrate goal against them despite playing EIGHT times for Gunners
ARSENAL fans were baffled as Konstantinos Mavropanos refused to celebrate after scoring against them for West Ham.
The defender thundered in a header to double his side’s lead against the Gunners in the Premier League fixture.
The Greek international’s celebration was rather muted, though as he held his hands up.
This left many viewers confused as his goal looked to set West Ham on their way to a famous victory.
Mavropanos was showing respect despite only playing eight times for his former club.
However, Arsenal fans insisted that he could indeed celebrate as they claimed that he was not remembered by the club’s fanbase.
One fan posted: “Mavropanos tryna show respect and not celebrate as if the fans here even rated you??? Brother, go knee slide and enjoy that man.”
A second wrote: “You can celebrate Mavropanos. We don’t remember you.”
A third commented: “Mavropanos why don’t you celebrate bro, u you played eight games for us.”
A fourth said: “I would celebrate if I was Mavropanos.”

Another added: “Arsenal thought Rice would bag against his former club and instead their former defender Konstantinos Mavropanos dunked on their head.”
Mavropanos left Arsenal in 2022 as he joined Bundesliga outfit VfB Stuttgart.
He moved back to England this summer as he completed a move to to the Hammers.
The game had already seen plenty of drama as West Ham took the lead through Tomas Soucek in the 13th minute.
However, fans were fuming as they thought the ball had gone out of play in the build-up.
West Ham star Lucas Paqueta was also forced off with what is a suspected hamstring injury.
The Hammers held on to their 2-0 lead to win the match, it could have got even better but Said Benrahma missed a late penalty which was conceded by Declan Rice.
