I’ve gained weight but made my face slim down without dieting – my mom taught me a life-changing jawline-sculpting trick
BEAUTY rituals from the land of the rising sun are having a remarkable effect on one TikToker.
She may have gained weight, but this technique from Japan is slimming her face down without dieting.
After adopting this jawline-sculpting trick, she said it was life-changing.
Her Asian mom taught her the method, and now Mel (@divinegirlmel) wants to pass on her knowledge so others can benefit too.
She has 60,000 followers on her platform, where she ordinarily focuses on fashion.
But after seeing the difference this beauty hack made, she took a detour from her normal content.
“How I slimmed down my face,” she began her post.
“This is not my normal content but I’m going to show you something that changed my life,” she said.
First, she demonstrated the change in her profile by showing a recent photo of herself.
“This is so embarrassing, but this is my face a year ago when I was lighter than I am now,” she confessed.
Then she pointed out the changes: “This is my jawline now.
“Obviously a lot different. And I’m going to show you exactly how I did it.”
The method was simple but was going to require some commitment to see any lasting results.
“After you wash your face you’re going to coat your face in moisturiser,” she explained.
“Then you’re going to do something called the Japanese facial massage routine. Commonly referred to as ‘self facelift.’
“Basically, it exercises the muscles in your face so your skin doesn’t sag.”
She broke the movements into five sections, with repetitions of five, all using pressure, but it “shouldn’t be painful.”
First off, using her fingertips on each side of her face, she pressed under the inner eye and swooped to the outer.
Next, still using her fingertips, she did the same motion, this time along the top of her cheekbone.
Thirdly, she used the palms of her hands, starting from the chin area and then sweeping up toward the ears.
For the fourth part, she used just a finger and thumb, and in a pincer movement, swept along the jawline.
For the fifth and final movement, she did some rigorous rubbing on her forehead area.
She signed off with a battle cry: “Do this to the time you die, girl.”
