Mafs UK star Jay Howard reveals what really happened in her split from husband Luke Worley
MARRIED At First Sight star Jay Howard has spoken out about her split from husband Luke Worley.
The pair were one of the strongest partnerships on the E4 show for the bulk of the latest series, but they were forced to leave the experiment after Luke and Jordan Gayle came to blows.
While Jay and Luke have remained good friends since the programme, romantically they failed to stand the test of time.
Now the Lancashire lass has revealed all about the final days of their romance on the Sophie Kasaei Unmasked Podcast.
She explained how things came to a head after they spent a weekend together at hers following a holiday.
Jay said: “It was when I came home and he came up for a weekend, and when he came back down the communication were just not there.
“Originally, it’d always be me. I’d wake up in the morning and send him a message.
“I wouldn’t get a reply for hours on end, like. I’d ring him and he’d be like ‘I’m busy I’ll ring ya later’; he wouldn’t.”
Jay realised she was spending more time on the phone with her friend and co-star Rozz Darlington, who was out of the country at the time, than Luke.
It made her question if she was getting enough from her man.
She continued: “One day I thought I’m going to not message him first and reach out and I’ll see how long it takes him. Four days.
“And that’s when I said ‘there’s no communication, you’re obviously not bothered’.
“I said ‘it’s not working, I feel like I’m not getting anything from ya’.”
Though the relationship fizzled out to communication issues, Jay insisted she still feels strongly for Luke and doesn’t have a bad word to say about him.
Ultimately she concluded, that while he loved her as a person, he wasn’t in love with her.
