Rapid Response Team by Armenian Volunteer Corps and Birthright Armenia Provides Crucial Aid to Displaced Artsakh Population

0

In response to Armenia's recent humanitarian crisis, a rapid response team formed by the Armenian Volunteer Corps (AVC) and Birthright Armenia is providing essential support to the forcibly displaced population of Artsakh.

Since September, this initiative has seen more than 120 of our volunteers from around the world, in addition to their regular job placements, actively engage in relief efforts. Some have even chosen to solely dedicate their time to this cause, demonstrating immense dedication to the humanitarian mission.

These volunteers are playing a pivotal role in various critical tasks. They have been instrumental in executing the  AGBU and the World Central Kitchen's food security project, translating testimonials for the Center for Truth and Justice, packaging and distributing vital supplies through VIVA, Transparent Charity Armenia, and Hurry to Good, providing logistics support to All for Armenia during the mass exodus from Artsakh in Goris and Kornidzor, fundraising, social media, and content development.

Roza Sayadyan, a volunteer coordinator with AGBU’s World Central Kitchen and a displaced resident from Artsakh, highlighted the volunteers' invaluable contribution. “The realization of the food security project would have been tough, even impossible, without the day-to-day devoted work of the volunteers. We highly appreciate the volunteers’ commitment to the cause of standing with the Artsakh people in these hard times,” she said.

Volunteer Shant Petrossian echoed this sentiment: "Working alongside these committed individuals, I've witnessed their remarkable dedication and positive impact on this mission. Their efforts in providing warm meals to Artsakh survivors are deeply appreciated."

"We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support from volunteers, who, despite the uncertainty and challenges of the time, jumped on board to support those who needed it the most. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of those forcibly displaced from Artsakh," said Arina Zohrabian, AVC’s Executive Director.

Both organizations will continue their efforts in supporting partners through the rapid response team. Those interested in traveling to Armenia to support these efforts should apply to AVC or Birthright Armenia. If you are passionate about making a difference, want to be part of this relief initiative, and meet the eligibility criteria, we urge you to apply.

"We believe in the power of collective action and solidarity. Our volunteers are a testament to that belief, working together to provide vital aid to those in crisis," Arina Zohrabian noted.
