Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes nominations: All 33 (and counting)
In the more than 80 years of Golden Globes ceremonies, you probably wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the person who holds the record for receiving the most nominations is Meryl Streep. After all, she’s Meryl! All 33 of her bids (and counting) are in the acting categories for her heralded work across both film and television. To date, eight of those citations resulted in wins: “Kramer vs. Kramer,” “The French Lieutenant’s Woman,” “Sophie’s Choice,” “Adaptation,” “Angels in America,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Julie & Julia” and “The Iron Lady.” Her most recent bid, for TV’s “Only Murders in the Building,” is still pending and will be announced on January 7, 2024.

DeMille Award at the 2017 ceremony, which was a non-competitive trophy. “What is Hollywood anyway?” she said while accepting that life achievement award. “It’s just a bunch of people from other places … Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. If you kick ’em all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”
This year’s Golden Globes ceremony will be hosted by comedian Jo Koy and will air on CBS. Streep is nominated for her special guest star role on Hulu’s “Only Murders in the Building,” and her co-nominees in the Best TV Supporting Actress race are Elizabeth Debicki (“The Crown”), Abby Elliott (“The Bear”), Hannah Waddingham (“Ted Lasso”), J. Smith-Cameron (“Succession”) and Christina Ricci (“Yellowjackets”). Will Streep add a ninth competitive Golden Globe statue to her mantel?
