Report: Centre-back is now ‘close to Tottenham’ despite Barcelona interest
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Radu Dragusin is now edging closer to a move to Tottenham Hotspur despite attracting interest from a couple of other clubs.
The report provides an update on the race between Spurs and Atalanta for Dragusin, explaining that the Serie A side are set to turn their attention to other centre-back targets.
This is because of the competition they are now facing for the Romanian from other clubs, ‘especially Tottenham’ who are said to have ‘arguments’ that bring them closer to €30m-€35m (£26m-£30.3m) fee requested by Genoa, which is considered too high for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Radu Dragusin is getting closer to a Spurs move
Curiously, the outlet says that Barcelona hold an interest in Dragusin and are willing to offer €30m (£26m) for the player but the defender is now said to be ‘close to Tottenham’.
Calciomercato has also credited the Catalan giants with an interest in the 21-year-old but they say that Spurs are ‘betting heavily’ on the centre-back and are willing to offer ‘significantly’ more than the La Liga giants.

If Tottenham are advancing on Dragusin, that could mean that the Lilywhites might have accepted defeat in their pursuit of Jean Clair-Todibo. Given the financial turmoil Barcelona are in, Spurs would not have any trouble outbidding them in the race for the Romanian.
