‘I would like to have him’ – Manager confirms interest in Tottenham player 

Hajduk Split manager Mislav Karoglan has now admitted that he would love to be able to bring Tottenham wide-man Ivan Perisic to the club.

Perisic has not kicked a ball since suffering an ACL injury back in September and the winger is not expected to be back in action any time soon.

With the Croat’s contract at North London running out next summer, it has been reported by various outlets (including Football Insider) that he has already played his final game for Spurs and is seeking a return to his homeland.

The publication suggested that the 34-year-old, who began his career at Hadjuk Split, is keen to finish his career back at his boyhood club.

In fact, some reports from Croatia have even suggested over the last couple of months that it is ‘inevitable’ that the experienced wide-man would end up returning to Hadjuk (24 Sata).

Karoglan has now admitted that while is not aware of how Perisic’s rehabilitation is going, he would love to bring the winger to the club.

When asked about the Tottenham star, the Hadjuk boss told Dalmatinski Portal: “I don’t know how his recovery is going after the injury, and the only thing I can say from my side is that I would like to have him in the dressing room whenever possible.”

Given that Perisic is unlikely to return to action before March at the earliest, I do not see Hadjuk paying a transfer fee for him in January. The most likely outcome is that the winger will move to his hometown club as a free agent next summer unless Spurs agree to terminate his contract next month.
