Switzerland pledges $4.25 million aid to Afghanistan
The Swiss Embassy in Pakistan recently announced that the country has donated 4.25 million dollars to the people of Afghanistan.
On Friday, the embassy posted on the social media platform X that Switzerland has donated 4.25 million dollars to the people of Afghanistan.
The Swiss Embassy in Pakistan also added that this amount of money was intended to provide services for newly deported Afghan migrants from Pakistan and the victims of the recent earthquake in Herat province.
These donations are being allocated to the people of Afghanistan when there has been an increase in poverty, the migration crisis, and the onset of winter coinciding with climate changes, thereby increasing the humanitarian needs of the people.
The World Food Program has also recently called on international agencies to assist the people of Afghanistan this winter.
The organization has emphasized that Afghans need help more than ever before.
According to the World Food Program, the people of Afghanistan are currently severely affected by the onset of the cold season.
The crisis of migrant deportations, recent earthquakes in the country, water scarcity, climate changes, and recent droughts have led to an increase in poverty and negative impacts, particularly on women and children in the country, hence expanding the level of need among Afghans.
