But if you were one of the lucky people who got a Stanley Cup in their sacks, you might want to pay attention to Chris’ warning.

The life hack pro took to TikTok to share a video explaining there’s a secret part of the cup people are forgetting to wash – and it can easily end up completely covered in mould.

He began his clip by showing a woman breaking apart the lid to reveal the mould in her cup, as he said: “Alright, so if y’all that got these Stanley Cups and you think they’re so great, make sure you clean them properly.

“Don’t just take the lid off and throw it in the dishwasher.”

Instead, begin by taking out the straw and turning the lid upside down to see a small round clip on the inside.

If you squeeze the edges of the clip together, the whole centrepiece of the lid pops out.

“And if you don’t clean these properly, you’re gonna get mould all over this thing,” he warned.

You can also take apart the plastic piece that the straw goes into – separating the silicone cover on the top to see if there’s any mould underneath that.

“Wash your cups people!!” he captioned the video.

“Ahhh I’m scared to check my stanley now!” one person commented on the clip.

As another added: “Main thing is don’t leave the lid on sealed when not in use damp causes mould.

“Open, clean and dry!”

“Don’t forget the rubber seal above the threads on the lid too,” a third wrote.

Others insisted taking the cup apart to clean it was far “too much work”.

“Too many parts to deal with,” one wrote.

“Why would you want one of these?” another questioned.

“Does it do something special or something?

“I don’t understand the hype.”

“I’ve had mine for a year, I just toss it in the dishwasher,” a third wrote.

“Just checked everything you said and it’s spotless.

“Guess I have a good dishwasher lol!”

“How do people not know this?!” someone else wondered.

As another added: “It’s common sense!”
