Advance Auto's stock selloff hurts rival's shares

Shares of auto parts retailers are taking a hit in premarket trade Thursday, in the wake of Advance Auto Parts Inc. disappointing first-quarter results, downbeat outlook and departure of its chief financial officer. Advance Auto's stock tumbled 7.6%, putting it on course to open at the lowest level since October 2014. Shares of AutoZone Inc. slumped 2.8%, of O'Reilly Automotive Inc. shed 2.2% and of Genuine Parts Co. slid 0.7%.

Talk of schism filled debates regarding rules on gay rights as the United Methodist Church voted late Wednesday to have a commission re-examine rules regarding LGBT clergy and marriage. A 428-405 vote by church delegates delayed a decision on LGBT equality issues, the Washington Post reported. United Methodist Church doctrine describes homosexuality as “incompatible” with its faith. The measure passed Wednesday called for “profound unity” as talk of a schism in the church has surrounded debates in the days before the vote.

Fiat Chrysler recalls 500,000 Jeeps; air bags may not work

Airbnb is being sued for allegedly ignoring racial discrimination by hosts

Airbnb is facing a lawsuit from a 25-year-old black man from Washington, D.C. who believes the company ignored his requests to correct the racist practices of one of its hosts.

George Selden, who's planning on making the lawsuit into a class action suit, made three profiles on the site. His personal account with his photo was declined by the host he requested to book with — and after declining Selden, the host kept the dates available for other guests.
