Musicians, poets join forces for social justice

More than a dozen Bay Area artists are banding together the day after Thanksgiving for an event that will combine music, poetry and social justice. Taking Back Thanksgiving Show at Slim’s on Friday, Nov. 25, will be hosted by Equipto, the San Francisco rapper and activist who staged a hunger strike earlier this year to call attention to police actions, mass incarceration and gentrification in the Bay Area.
