Armenian Defense Ministry examines new video on torture of Armenian POWs by Azerbaijani soldiers
YEREVAN, Oct. 12. /ARKA/. Armenia's Defense Ministry’s spokesman Aram Torosyan said today the ministry was examining a new video footage showing Azerbaijani soldiers torturing Armenian prisoners of war.
The latest video of torture of Armenian soldiers, filmed apparently during the September aggression of Azerbaijan on the territory of Armenia, circulated in social networks on Tuesday.
The footage shows Azerbaijani soldiers intentionally mutilating the legs of Armenian prisoners of war and forcing them to stand up.
Numerous videos regularly publicized by Azerbaijani users on social media demonstrate the war crimes, extrajudicial killings of Armenian prisoners of war, torture of Armenian servicemen, including women, and desecration of corpses committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces.
The latest confirmed appalling video that emerged on social media earlier this month, shows Azerbaijani soldiers arbitrarily executing a group of Armenian POWs.
According to the Human Rights Defender, the video was shot during a large-scale attack by the Azerbaijani armed forces on the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13.
Armenia has sent the video of the murder to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the UN International Court of Justice. -0-
