Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan demolished
YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. The Surmalu shopping center in Yerevan that was partly destroyed by an explosion on August 14 was demolished, the press secretary of the capital's municipality Levon Sardaryan said on his Facebook page.
He said the dismantling was financed by the owner of the shopping center.
"The territory has been cleared, the construction debris has been removed, and work is underway to improve the adjacent sidewalk," Sardaryan said, adding that the two-way traffic on Kristopher Street has been restored.
The explosion at a fireworks warehouse on August 14 killed 16 people, including a pregnant woman and a child and injured another 63. One person is still being unaccounted for as of today. -0-
