Tens of thousands of vacancies in Armenia – minister says
YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. There are tens of thousands of vacancies in Armenia in such sectors as construction, agriculture, public catering and others, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan said in an interview with the Public Television of Armenia.
According to him, the big task is to provide the unemployed with "the right jobs," because most of the unemployed live in the regions, while the vacancies are mostly in the capital city Yerevan.
The minister said also that the majority of the unemployed are blacklisted by banks and if they get an officially registered job a significant part of their wages will be sought by banks as repayment of their outstanding debts.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the unemployment rate in the country was estimated at 13.8% in the second quarter of 2022. --0--
