BYD ATTO 3 EV Revealed In India: Bookings Open
BYD has revealed the ATTO 3 EV SUV for India. With its brand mission of “Technological Innovations for A Better Life”, BYD makes its official entry into the Indian passenger vehicle market. BYD has started taking bookings for ATTO 3 for a token amount of Rs 50,000. While the prices of the electric SUV will be announced next month, it is expected to be priced around the Rs 30 Lakh mark. The ATTO 3 electric SUV is BYD’s second product in the Indian market after the E6 MPV was recently made available for private buyers. Deliveries of the first 500 units will take place in January 2023.
The Atto 3 measures 4,445mm in length, 1,875mm in width and 1,615mm in width, has a wheelbase of 2,720mm. It gets a large blank silver grille in the front which is flanked by slim LED headlights on each side. The LED DRLs mimic the shape of wings. The side features extensive black cladding on the wheels arches. The wheels are 18-inch units finished in dual tone. The rear gets full-length LED taillamps and ‘Build Your Dreams’ lettering.
BYD-ATTO 3 is the first model in India built on the e-Platform 3.0, with the Blade Battery, an 8-in-1 electric powertrain, and highly integrated domain controllers. The platform features the world’s first 8-in-1 electric powertrain with a drive motor, motor controller, reducer, onboard charger, DC converter, high-voltage distribution box, vehicle controller, and Battery Management System (BMS) integrated, resulting in a 20% overall size reduction and 15% weight reduction.
The BYD-ATTO 3 is equipped with fast charging from 0% to 80% within 50 mins. It delivers a range of 521km according to ARAI tests with a high battery capacity of 60.48kWh. Despite the 1,750 kg kerb weight, it can go from a 0-100km/h in 7.3s. ATTO 3 gets a front-mounted electric motor that produces 201 hp of max power and 310 Nm of max torque. In terms of safety features, it gets L2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) BYD Di pilot, 7 airbags, the panoramic sunroof, a 12.8-inch adaptive rotating suspension electronic pad, 360° holographic transparent imaging system, NFC card key, the Vehicle to Load (VTOL) mobile power station.
The car is equipped with a panoramic sunroof measuring 1,261mm long and 849mm wide with electric slide and anti-pinch features. The interior is rather quirky with funky looking speakers, door handles and A/C vents. It comes standard with a 12.8-inch adaptive rotating screen supporting a 360° holographic transparent imaging system. The BYD-ATTO 3 is also equipped with a mobile power station that supports power up to 3.3Kw. Other features include mobile phone wireless charging, a one-touch electric control tailgate, an 8-speaker audio system, electric seat adjustment, voice control, LED headlamps, LED rear lights, multi-color gradient ambient lighting that responds to music rhythm, PM 2.5 air filter, CN95 air filter, etc. The boot space is rated at 440 litres.
