According to the Federal Reserve, credit card delinquencies increased by 50 percent in 2023, while consumer debt grew to 17.5 trillion dollars. A recent survey by Clever Real Estate found that three in five Americans have credit card debt and that 23 percent of Americans increase their credit card debt every month. The survey also found that 48 percent of Americans (including 59 percent of millennials) use credit cards for essential living expenses.

Albania officially re-opened Kuçova airbase on Monday (4 March 2024), after transforming the decades-old base into a modern hub for NATO future air operations. Located around 80 kilometres south of Tirana, Kuçova airbase will serve Albania and support Alliance logistics, air operations, training and exercises. NATO funded the base upgrade with around €50 million. 

On Thursday, more than 100 people were killed and 700 injured in northern Gaza, after thousands of hungry civilians rushed at a convoy of aid trucks, leading to a stampede and prompting Israeli soldiers to fire at the crowd. It is not yet clear how many died from gunfire and how many from being trampled or run over, although most of the injuries in the local hospital were said to be bullet wounds.

After skipping summons in the Baloch missing students’ case twice, Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar finally appeared in the Islamabad High Court [IHC] last Wednesday. On February 14, the news websites announced the surprising news that South Korea established diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cuba through its mission to the United Nations.
