This. EA did a great here by simply taking the side of people standing up to tyranny. EA discovered an excuse to buy time to polish a turd. They could claim to be as progressive as they want, but their internal work culture is totally cut-throat, betray your very best friend to get a bonus along with Madden 21 coins a sports car, internally sabotage your rivals job, kinda culture. There is a reason people hate EA both internally and externally. It is really pretty popular in Brazil, especially on TV, in regard to evaluations it clearly loses out to soccer by a pretty wide margin, but I would say it's on par with the NBA, Tennis and Formula 1 here. For the previous years cinemas have even started to demonstrate the Super Bowl in theaters live since it is a fairly big event.

However, it is not a popular game for folks to play since it requires a whole lot of equipment, but you will find amateur soccer or flag soccer teams in every city and many universities. Who cares why they are doing it, can we at least respect that they are doing something? I imagine they sent media policy stuff to various books in preparation of launching that trailer, and rather they are probably spending a great deal of time sending emails to say they are delaying it. To that, I'll just answer, they could still be doing less by simply silently pushing back any planned trailer reveals, which this is still a company twitter which means someone had to get the tweet approved on some level, which means someone did something. Some art guy somewhere spent 15 minutes putting platitudes onto a black backdrop and they tweeted it out. I've seen a dozen of them already and it's about as useful as placing about the rainbow icons for pride. It's advertising in a tragedy by trying to appear sympathetic. Maybe, but I still think it's something. Half the replies I saw on Twitter were folks freaking out about it. Those people probably don't give a shit about Madden anyhow, if you say you would like a distraction while half of the country is are protesting, it kinda makes you look like a dick.
