For several decades Banari Shri Gopalakrishna Yakshagana Kala Sangha at Delampady, a remote village on the eastern border of Kerala's Kasaragod district, has been imparting free classes, sending out a message that Yakshagana, a traditional theatre form, should not be commercialised. The sangha has a glorious history of 78 years of service to the art. Since 2012, it has been developed as Keerikkadu Smaraka Yakshagana Samskrithika Adhyana Kendra, which is functioning under the sangha, as its integral part.
