Rlys issues fog alert for passengers’ safety

The east coast railway Ecor has issued a fog alert to ensure safe train operations in dense fog conditions at night and early in the morning on Wednesday. Around 20 longdistance trains, particularly to north India, were running late as the engine drivers were instructed to regulate speed depending on visibility in the fog. Ecor General Manager Roop Narayan Sunkar has instructed the officers to monitor the movement of trains during heavy fog. This is disappointing because both artists and people were expecting it. Gajendra Sahoo of the BK College of Art who was in charge of the tableaux designs said that they had changed their music so that both Mahari and Ghumra dancers could dance to the same tune on the tableau. Dolphin census gets under way in Chilika

The berhampur three-day dolphin census is taking place. 130 personnel are working on the census, including officials from the Wildlife Chilika Development Authority (WCDA), state-owned Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), wildlife activists, and members of boat associations. Probe launched into 3 ATM thefts

Cybercrime police in Coimbatore, India registered a case and launched an investigation into cases of theft at three banks' ATMs on October 5 and 6. The bank officials learned about the illegal transactions after 373 lakh went missing from the ATMs. A police officer said that the miscreants made use of a system vulnerability they tampered with the ATMs in such a way that it had entered as retracted the amount even after dispersing it. "Illegal withdrawals were reported outside Coimbatore as well the perpetrators will be arrested soon," he added.
