SEATTLE, Washington: Amazon.com's cloud computing division, Amazon Web Services, has been awarded a five-year enterprise software license contract worth $723.9 million by the United States Navy.

A high school teacher was arrested by the intelligence and enforcement bureau wing of the excise department for allegedly running a liquor manufacturing unit in his house. The unit was found to be operating illegally and the teacher was selling the liquor to the locals in pouches. The excise sleuths seized around 125 litres of countrymade liquor from the unit. A 25-year-old man was arrested for setting a motorcycle on fire, and he was booked under section 435 of the Indian Penal Code. The motorcycle belonged to a 35-year-old daily wage labourer from Sathyamoorthy Nagar, and the incident created a flutter in the area. "Residents thought the bike exploded, but the battery in it was intact," said a police officer.
